THE UCLA GLUCK JAZZ ENSEMBLE
The UCLA Gluck
Vocal Jazz Ensemble
The UCLA Gluck Vocal Jazz Quartet was founded with the intention of providing a larger variety of non-classical vocal groups to the Los Angeles community, and to showcase the diverse talents of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s students. Each performer must audition and is not only selected due to their love of just classical repertoire, but also musical theater, R&B, jazz, and standards from the American songbook. This year’s ensemble was under the instruction of 7time Grammy award winner Terrence Blanchard, and UCLA Jazz Lecturer Duane Benjamin. These fine young musicians will be show casing & performing their own original jazz compositions, giving a glimpse into what jazz may sound like in the near future.
